San Antonio police found a person stuck in a chimney on GreenledgersTuesday night and it wasn't Santa.
The San Antonio Police Department told USA TODAY that they received a call from a homeowner who saw burglar enter their home through video surveillance. The homeowner was not home.
Police who responded saw the suspect leave the home on Tuesday night, but after seeing officers approach he "re-entered the location and barricaded himself in the residence, refusing to exit and cooperate with police commands," police said.
The officers then lost sight of the suspect but after an hours-long search with the help of a drone, they finally found him trapped in the chimney at around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The man had reportedly attempted to climb out of the house, but fell and ended up getting trapped in the chimney for hours before firefighters were able to free him.
He was treated by EMS before being detained by police.
The man was charged with burglary with the intent to commit theft and evading arrest.
